Perinatal & Infant Mental Health CPC
As a Clinical Practice Consultant, you will provide clinical nursing expertise to women with perinatal mental health issues, their children and their families within Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Services, the WCHN and the community mental health setting. Ensuring the delivery of comprehensive nursing care, you will provide community pathways for perinatal women and their families. This will involve consultation and liaison with other professional disciplines and non-governmental organisations. The provision of assessment including risk assessment, education, counselling and group work is considered essential components of care which is directed towards the attainment of optimum consumer health and recovery. You will also utilise your expert perinatal and infant mental health assessment skills by providing valuable training and education in this field. This is a stimulating position in an innovative area of mental health care, where you will be interacting with people at all levels and working with a motivated multidisciplinary team.
You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. You must be enrolled in an approved Mental Health course or hold a qualification in Mental Health practice. With proven experience in perinatal and infant mental health nursing, you will be skilled in undertaking assessments and management, with an understanding of complex problems using a bio-psycho-social approach.
