Seeking motivated and innovative Registered Nurses looking to join a strong and supportive critical care environment. Flinders Medical Centre (FMC) is the southern area's largest hospital providing medical services for the southern population of Adelaide and major regional rural centers. The flagship hospital for southern Adelaide, FMC offers a rewarding and challenging environment for your career development as well as many benefits for being a member of staff. In this integral role, you will provide direct person centered nursing care to patients on a shift by shift basis in a defined clinical area with increasing autonomy over time. You will assess individual patient needs, plan, implement and coordinate appropriate service delivery from a range of accepted options including other disciplines or agencies. In addition, you will support nursing/midwifery practice and learning experiences for students undertaking clinical placements, orientation for new staff and preceptorship of graduates.

Registered as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, you will hold a current practising certificate. With demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice, you will bring sound knowledge and understanding of the role of the Registered General Nurse/Midwife within a healthcare setting. Creative, innovative and flexible, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to providing consumer/client and family centered care. Well organised with good communication, problem solving and negotiation skills, you will be able to prioritise workload accordingly. You will be a team player who enjoys working collaboratively with others in a multidisciplinary environment. A recognised post graduate qualification in Intensive Care or closely related specialty or extensive Intensive Care experience will be an advantage that will set you above the competition.

To be appointed at the RN2C (Clinical Nurse) level you must already be employed at that level and have recent demonstrated competence in an equivalent practice setting with at least three years, full time equivalent, post registration experience and experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.
