Along with a fantastic work environment, you will enjoy the flexibility and challenges of this highly rewarding role as a Speech Pathologist, providing services to the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN) as part of the multidisciplinary team. The team focuses primarily on children, birth to preschool entry and their families. In this key role, you will develop, implement and evaluate speech pathology assessment and therapeutic intervention strategies appropriate to young children and their families. You will utilise specialised skills in the clinical management of complex problems regarding management of young children with developmental delays and their families, where there are also often parent-child relationship issues and high vulnerability. In addition, you will provide accurate assessment and evaluation of clients with a range of developmental delays by using standardised and informal assessment tools and interpreting results from these assessments to form an accurate understanding of the issues arising for the child and their family.

To be the successful candidate, you must hold an appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles membership of Speech Pathology Australia. With previous experience undertaking a broad range of speech pathology assessment and therapy with young children and their parents, you will possess high level communication skills to effectively work with, and resolve issues and conflict with, people with diverse value systems, cultural differences and special needs. Furthermore, you must have experience in group work, having worked with vulnerable children and their families. Thriving in a challenging healthcare environment, you will have experience organising workloads, under limited direction and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
