Joining the Community Health team, you will assist with providing professional, high quality nursing care in the Kangaroo Island community. Striving to improve client health outcomes, you will participate in assessing individual clients’ needs, along with planning, implementing or coordinating appropriate services from a range of accepted options. You will also provide health education, counselling and rehabilitation programs to improve the health outcomes of individual clients or groups in the community. It is expected that you will provide support and guidance to newer or less experienced staff, Enrolled Nurses, student nurses and other workers providing basic community nursing care. Promoting positive health outcomes in the community, you will liaise and work closely with Allied Health practitioners working within a multidisciplinary framework. You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With experience in person-centred community health nursing practice, you will have effective communication skills, including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. With the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and prioritise workloads, you will be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a community healthcare setting.
