Working as part of SABIRS, you will provide a high quality, evidence-based clinical psychology service to patients and their families in the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Community and Home (BIRCH) program based at Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre. BIRCH is a specialised interdisciplinary team that provides rehabilitation for adults with an acquired brain injury in a community setting. Clients of SABIRS have complex physical, emotional, cognitive, perceptual, communication, social and/or behavioural issues frequently compounded by medical, mental health and substance abuse difficulties. The BIRCH service specialises in providing skilled management of this highly complex group. In addition, BIRCH provides consultative and specialist support to other therapists and services relating to Acquired Brain Injury Rehabilitation.

With demonstrated experience in working with individuals with an acquired brain injury or neurological condition, you will possess advanced skills in counselling, conducting psychological assessments and providing evidence-based treatment and therapy approaches. You will have experience working in cooperative team settings and have effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Past experience in leadership and management of a clinical psychology area is desirable. The role also involves assisting the Program Manager SABIRS and Principal Clinician, Psychology in the management of BIRCH by representing the discipline in service development.

You will require an appropriate degree (Masters Degree in Clinical or Health Psychology) or equivalent qualification recognised by the PSyBA, general registration with the PsyBA, be endorsed in either Clinical and/or Health Psychology area of practice, be eligible for membership with the College of Clinical Psychologists and be a board approved supervisor with the PsyBA at all levels of supervision.
