You will be responsible for assisting the Clinical Director in providing effective mental health care for consumers and carers across the Country Health SA Local Health Network Inc. Mental Health Service in the Eyre Flinders & Far North Region. Working in collaboration with rural General Practitioners, Mental Health Clinicians and other health professionals to provide safe and high quality mental health care, you will use standardised and informal assessment protocols to form an accurate diagnosis and to develop and implement individual treatment programs. As part of your role, you will contribute to the teaching of medical undergraduate students and other health professionals. This is a great chance to be part of the Integrated Mental Health Team working in a therapeutic open unit environment, as part of a holistic and integrated model of care within country South Australia. You will hold a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, and be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration. In addition, you will be enrolled in postgraduate training with the South Australian Psychiatry Training committee (or equivalent) and Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry. With demonstrated experience in the hospital and community care of individuals with a mental illness, you will bring the ability to work collaboratively with consumers, families in crisis and to liaise effectively with other agencies.
