Using your clinical experience, you will support the Nurse Unit Manager in the leadership of nurses within the Glenside Mental Health Service. Promoting continuity and consistency of care, you will contribute to the implementation of practice changes and undertake service management responsibilities. These will include performance management processes, recruitment, staffing, leave management, rostering, work allocation and attendance management; financial and supplies planning and monitoring. Utilising your nursing skills and knowledge, you will support and work collaboratively with less experienced members of the mental health service. The recently redeveloped Glenside Campus creates an environment that brings together mental health services with everyday community life and facilities such as community open space, housing, shopping, business and cultural activity. Glenside aims to support people with mental illness or substance abuse issues to lead normal lives, with improved building design leading to better service integration and simpler patient transitions with fewer disruptions.

You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. You must be enrolled in an approved Mental Health course or hold a qualification in Mental Health practice. With demonstrated competence in the care of individuals with complex mental health needs, you will be proficient in the current nursing and clinical information systems such as CBIS, EPAS and OACIS. You will possess effective leadership skills and have experience in the supervision of student nurses, Enrolled Nurses and less experienced Registered Nurses.
