Joining a highly respected, dynamic team working across the Royal Adelaide Hospital and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital sites, you will provide clinical services of the highest possible standard to Emergency Department patients. This will be achieved both in terms of individual performance and by providing clinical leadership and contributing to a multidisciplinary approach to the delivery of patient care. You will provide a professional medical service in accordance with Departmental, Hospital and regional policy manuals and documents, and with the Professional standards of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine. You will be actively involved in teaching Emergency Medicine Trainees, Trainee Medical Officers, interns and medical students and where appropriate nursing and allied health staff. As part of your role, you will also participate in clinical audit and quality, safety and clinical risk management activities along with research and continuous medical education activities. CALHN EDs attract high quality Emergency Medicine Trainees and junior staff and has a high level of support. The new Royal Adelaide Hospital is the largest hospital in South Australia, providing world class health care and facilities. The most advanced hospital in Australia, the new RAH is the cornerstone of the reformed SA Health system. The Queen Elizabeth Hospital is a 311 bed, acute care teaching hospital that provides inpatient, outpatient, emergency and mental health services to a population of more than 250,000 people living primarily in Adelaide’s western suburbs. Within the CALHN network there is significant exposure to critically unwell patients arriving from other hospitals within Central Australia as well as opportunities to focus on special skills such as Ultrasound and Toxicology.

You will be a Fellow of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine or equivalent, and be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Specialist in Emergency Medicine. With a proven track record of extensive clinical experience relevant to work in an Emergency Department, you will demonstrate high level clinical skills in emergency medicine. You will bring the ability to work independently and exercise a high level of professional judgement and medical competence in a multidisciplinary setting.
