As a member of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the teaching, leadership and mentoring of junior medical staff employed in the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN), as well as medical students attending NALHN on rotation from the University of Adelaide.  You will have dual responsibilities, with 0.5 FTE appointment within the Postgraduate Medical Education Unit (PMEU) and 0.5 FTE within a specialty division according to your specialty choice (e.g. Division of Medical Sub-Specialties or Division of Critical Care). You will develop a teaching program for General Training RMOs and run tutorials for medical staff across NALHN, including exam preparation and bedside teaching. Assisting the TMO Unit with difficult rostering issues and recruiting, you will also assist with mentoring overseas trained Doctors and RMOs undergoing performance improvement plans. The opportunity to continue clinical exposure in your chosen specialty will be accommodated if required by your College.
Holding a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, you will be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration. You will also be an Advanced Trainee or Senior Registrar in an accredited training program or Senior Medical Practitioner with at least 5 years’ postgraduate experience in the public system. Demonstrating a sound understanding of adult learning principles, you will bring the ability to act as a role model for medical students and junior medical staff. Self-directed and adaptable to change, you will have a strong commitment to ongoing medical education.
