As an expert in rehabilitation nursing practice, you will exercise a significant degree of autonomy and decision making to deliver high quality clinical nursing care to patients of the Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre. Assessing patients, you will select and implement different therapeutic interventions and support programs, as well as undertaking complex discharge planning and hospital avoidance strategies through the provision of education, equipment and referral. Primarily providing direct nursing care, you will also provide clinical leadership to other nurses and undertake coordination and leadership of projects and programs to improve patient rehabilitation outcomes. You will accept accountability for the outcomes of rehabilitation nursing practices, the professional advice given, delegations of care made, and work to address inconsistencies between practice and policy. Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre provides clinical rehabilitation services for people suffering from traumatic brain injury, stroke, other neurological and medical disorders, spinal cord injury, orthopaedic conditions and amputations. We are dedicated to maximising patient independence and optimising lifestyle through rehabilitation. The facility is situated in spacious garden surroundings in the suburb of Northgate, 10 kilometres north-east of the Adelaide CBD.

You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With proven experience in rehabilitation nursing, you will be capable of giving supervision to student nurses, Enrolled Nurses and less experienced Registered Nurses. You will use your effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills to maintain a cohesive multidisciplinary team and resolve local or immediate nursing care problems.
