Have you qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2017 and are you interested in consolidating your skills in an acute hospital setting? NALHN (Lyell McEwin and Modbury Hospitals) is seeking professional, motivated and passionate Allied Health professionals to join our new Graduate program. As part of our Graduate Program, you will undertake specific practice in occupation therapy which will enable you to consolidate what you have learnt during your University Program. Working within one of the major tertiary hospitals in the state, you will provide high quality occupational therapy services that maximise patient health outcomes. Using a competent level of professional knowledge and skill, you will provide assessment, interpret findings and plan and implement intervention in collaboration with patient’s carers and other health professionals. You will meet other like-minded graduates and will be part of a professional multidisciplinary team providing optimal client care to patients. Positions are available for a 12 month period. Out of hours and weekend work, including public holidays will be required.

To be the successful candidate, you must hold a Degree or other qualification which entitles registration as a Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia. You will have demonstrated competency in the clinical management and treatment of a broad range of conditions, reflecting sound knowledge in Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment techniques. With drive, initiative and an appetite for learning, you will bring a strong commitment to improve personal and professional skills through self-directed learning and evaluation in line with LHN objectives. Good communication and time management skills and the ability to effectively manage a caseload is also required.
