  • Indicative Total Remuneration: $56,389 - $61,036 (pro rata) – Perm P/T (5.25 hrs p/wk) – OPS2
  • You will be responsible for providing assistance with Diversional activities for Aged Care Residents in Hawker Memorial Hospital. These diversional activities are aimed at encouraging independence and maintaining a sense of self-esteem for residents by encouraging them to be involved in social and recreational events. Enabling residents to identify their personal goals, interests and aspirations, you will help residents to achieve those goals both individually and in groups by facilitating the development of ideas, plans and meaningful activities, using imagination and flexibility. Maintaining positive relationships within the multidisciplinary team, you will report any observed change in the status of clients to the Clinical Services Coordinator or after hours to the Registered Nurse on duty at the Hospital.     Having worked before as a Paramedical Aide or demonstrating equivalent experience, you will have a sound understanding of the effect on interpersonal relationships which result from changed health status, age or disability. You will be capable of developing and evaluating plans, working under indirect supervision and maintaining confidentiality at all times. Along with good negotiation and problem solving skills, you will bring the ability to communicate effectively with clients from a variety of cultural and societal backgrounds.

    Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check.
