You will provide clinical leadership in the provision of effective and efficient quality rehabilitation services for patients of the Central Adelaide Local Health Network. This will include assisting with the delivery of ambulatory rehabilitation services for patients serviced by the Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH), The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (TQEH) and the Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre (HRC), consistent with the Transforming Health plan. Encouraging consumer and carer involvement in the treatment process, you will develop and implement innovative methods for effective and efficient patient care delivery. You will also actively participate in recruiting and rostering medical staff within the department, and work to develop and implement policies, procedures and clinical protocols to guide the provision of medical care. The Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) provides a range of acute, sub-acute, ambulatory and primary health care services across the Central region of metropolitan Adelaide. It includes the Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH), Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (TQEH), St Margaret’s Hospital and a range of Primary Health Care and state-wide services.

Holding a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or an equivalent qualification, you will be registered or registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Rehabilitation Specialist. As an experienced rehabilitation consultant physician, you will be skilled in the assessment and provision of high quality team based intensive rehabilitation to clients with a variety of neurological, orthopaedic or other complex health conditions, including the management of clients with complex psychosocial presentations. Past experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching will be ideal.

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check.
