You will work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary child protection team to reduce identified child safety and risk factors and increase protective factors. Delivering a comprehensive high quality specialist Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug Service, you will undertake assessment, counselling, treatment and referral of parents involved with the child protection system with alcohol and drug related problems. Ensuring high quality liaison, case management and collaboration with the health, welfare and other relevant systems in the brokerage of services, you will contribute to building the capacity of the Families SA and DASSA services to respond to the alcohol and other drug issues/service delivery needs of parents with high and complex needs. The role also provides consultancy, liaison and support to other professional disciplines and non-government organisations

For appointment at the AHP level, you will hold a degree or equivalent qualification in an Allied Health profession, and have membership with the relevant professional association. For appointment at the RN level, you will be registered as a Registered Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and holds a current practicing certificate. You will have demonstrated experience in counselling clients at risk and working with clients and communities experiencing diverse and complex problems, including homelessness and family violence. Strong communication and interpersonal skills will be essential to you successfully engaging people from a range of disciplines and cultures with a view to developing effective and sustainable working relationships.
